Live sessions are every other Wednesday evening, 7pm Central, and every one is recorded and posted. So on your CoachBack week you send me your playing, and on the off week we're together live — you're seeing me every week either way. If you're buying, I'd point you at a full-size keyboard with weighted keys — but if what you have is an unweighted keyboard in the corner, start there. I'd rather you start today on what you own than wait three months for the perfect instrument.

Explaining and correcting share one half hour

Teacher talk, you absorb. You go home and try to remember it. By Wednesday you’re guessing. Next week I find out what you misremembered and we start over.

This is how I taught for over a decade

It isn't bad teaching. It's just the math of a half hour: by the time I've explained something properly, your lesson is nearly over. Stretch it to a full hour and it's easy for the conversation to drift — and you go home having talked more than you played.

HOW WE'LL WORK

The explaining is recorded. The correcting is live.

Short lessons, one idea each, in the order an adult brain needs them. Watch at 6am or 11pm. Rewind as often as you want — it costs nothing to watch again.
