I took lessons as a kid for a couple of years but completely forgot everything. Stacey's method helped me relearn everything, but even better this time. I enjoy the pieces I play. The live lessons are always insightful, and I look forward to those. The pieces I play now, I never thought I'd touch. She's a great teacher.

About Piano Skool

Hi, I'm Stacey!

I teach adults to actually play the piano.

I’ve taught adult beginners and returning players for over fifteen years. I have a master’s degree from the Manhattan School of Music and I’ve logged more than 14,000 hours at the piano.

For most of that time I taught the normal way — half an hour a week, in my studio, one student at a time. Then I found something that works better for adults. That's what the video above explains.

If you messaged a pile of teachers and heard nothing back — or just got an automated reply — that's not you. That's the field.

You're in the right place. You've found a real teacher.

Piano Skool isn't an app. It isn't a corporation. It's my private piano studio, and you're welcome in it — unless you want to play jazz. I can't help you there.

I use classical fundamentals to get you playing everything else — rock, pop, movie themes, whatever you love.

ADULTS GET RESULTS FASTER

Your Lesson Time Shouldn’t Be

Spent Listening To Me Talk

Say I want to teach you one hand exercise. Explaining it properly: what it is, what it should feel like, what going wrong feels like ...

THE USUAL WAY

Explaining and correcting share one half hour

Teacher talk, you absorb. You go home and try to remember it. By Wednesday you’re guessing. Next week I find out what you misremembered and we start over.

~20 min explaining ~10 min correcting

This is how I taught for over a decade

It isn't bad teaching. It's just the math of a half hour: by the time I've explained something properly, your lesson is nearly over. Stretch it to a full hour and it's easy for the conversation to drift — and you go home having talked more than you played.

HOW WE'LL WORK

The explaining is recorded. The correcting is live.

Short lessons, one idea each, in the order an adult brain needs them. Watch at 6am or 11pm. Rewind as often as you want — it costs nothing to watch again.

100% of my time on your actual hands

That's the CoachBack approach

You film yourself playing on your phone and send it to me. I watch your hands, your posture, your rhythm, your timing — and I send back a video showing exactly what’s off and exactly how to fix it.

You still have me as your teacher. I’m just not spending your money explaining concepts a video explains better.

“It’s Just A Hobby. I’m Not In A Rush.”

“It’s Just A Hobby...

I’m Not In A Rush.

You’re right. Nobody’s timing you, and I’m not going to invent a reason to hurry.

But here’s what fifteen years of teaching adults actually looks like: they don’t quit because piano is hard. They quit because nothing visible happens for long enough that it stops feeling worth the time. Three months in, still on exercises, no song to show for it. That’s when the lid goes down and the piano becomes furniture.

Speed isn’t about rushing you.

Speed is what keeps it alive.

Speed isn’t about rushing you.Speed is what keeps it alive.

If you can sit down and play something real early, you’ll still be playing next year — and that’s the only thing that actually matters. It’s why my students reach a piece like Für Elise in about a hundred days instead of two years. Same destination. They just don’t quit on the way there.

14 days to complete. Go at your pace.

Real adults. Real songs.

Real Transformation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this just one normal lesson for $97?

No.

You’re getting what most teachers spread over several weeks of “basics” lessons: a week of structured content, a detailed video critique, and a live call to map out your path. It’s designed to replace the usual “handful of lessons to see if I like it” in a much smarter way.

Do I have to do everything in exactly 7 days?

No. Most students complete the 7‑day material over 1–2 weeks. You can watch lessons when it fits your life, then send your video when you’re ready.

Do I need special equipment?

Just a piano or keyboard, a way to join a video call, and something to prop your phone up when you record your playing.

What if I’m a complete beginner and remember nothing?

Perfect. This is exactly who I built this for. I assume you’re starting from scratch.

How much time does it take?

20-30 minutes a day, five or six days a week. Consistency is key. Our lessons are produced to give an exceptional learning experience for our students. As adults, piano is meant to be fun and something you look forward to, which is why our lessons are easy to consume and enjoy.

Our lessons are online, so there is no commute time, scheduling hassles, or guilt for missing a day. You have a life and we've made the program to work around the life you have.

How does the refund / credit work again?

Simple:

-> If you watch the lessons, send your video, and show up to your Starter Lesson call, and you decide it’s not for you, I refund your $97 on that call.

-> If you do continue into my 100‑day program, your $97 is deducted from your tuition as a credit.

What exactly is a CoachBack (a personal feedback video)?

You prop your phone up, record yourself playing and send it in. I watch your hands, and record a personal video back to you with helpful tips to help you improve: "slow this bar down, isolate the left hand here, change that fingering". When you enroll, I will give you specific instructions on how to make your video and send it in. It's easy.

What method Stacey uses to teach piano?

Stacey's methodology is based on classical training — reading music, hand coordination, technique, rhythm, expression, and musicality — to give students the foundation they need to play the songs and pieces they actually want to play.

With classical training, you can play a variety of musical styles, such as contemporary, movie things, pop, rock, and classical music.

She believes choosing the correct arrangement for adults is crucial in balancing playability with impressive sound, so the music feels achievable but still sounds beautiful on the piano.

So unless your main goal is advanced improvised jazz, her method is built to help you become the kind of pianist who can read, learn, practice, and perform real music with confidence.
